Gelfond's constant

Gelfond's constant is the transcendental number

Explanation

You can find this with Euler's formula e i x = cos x + i sin x where x = π so that

This will give

If you calculate this more accurate you get the value 23,14069263277926… Because it is a transcendental number, there are there infinitely many digits after the decimal point, which never form a regular pattern. You can add to the list with π and e.

History

Russian mathematician Alexander Gelfond (1906 - 1968) investigated transcendental numbers.
