Holographic principle

The holographic principle describes that the maximum amount of information in a volume is proportional to the area of the outer boundary of that space.

 


Explanation

Information in a space is depicted on its surface. This has one dimension less. Actually, that's not so strange, because you always see the outside.

 


History

This principle was proposed by the Dutch physicist Gerard 't Hooft in 1993.
