The Pinyin input method allows you to represent the Chinese language using Latin letters.
Explanation
It is a phonetic system. There are programs that let you enter Pinyin into a computer and convert Chinese characters to Pinyin.
With a graphical system based on radicals (such as the Tsang-chieh input method), you can type much faster and make fewer mistakes.
