Speed

The speed v describes how fast an object is moving with respect to a frame of reference, but does not tell in which direction.

 


Explanation

The instantaneous speed of an object is the derivative of the position with respect to time

where

    x Displacement
    t Time

 


Example 1

If you drive 30 km on a bicycle in 2 hours, you can calculate the speed as 30 / 2 = 15 km/h.
