AC/ON

On a Casio calculator you can clear all data on the display

AC/ON

and the keyboard is unlocked. This key is also used to turn power on or stop execution of an operation.

 


Error messages

The keyboard is locked while an error message is on the display. Press  AC/ON or  EXIT  to clear the error. With left  ◁  or right  ▷  you can move the cursor over the calculation and correct the problem. Pressing  AC/ON does not clear replay memory, so you can recall the last calculation.

 


Exemple 1

To enter 1 ÷ 0

 
Ma ERROR
Press:[EXIT]
 1  ÷  0  EXE AC/ON
1÷0

Dividing by zero always produces a message.

 


Exemple 2

To enter 00

 
Ma ERROR
Press:[EXIT]
 0   0  EXE AC/ON
00

although it is determined by definition that 00 ≝ 1. Take that as a warning.

 


Exemple 3

To enter 2 (−) 1

 
Syntax ERROR
Press:[EXIT]
 2  (–)  1  EXE AC/ON
2 - 1

A minus sign cannot be used to subtract.

 


Example 4

To interrupt calculation of a linear differential or quadratic differential or an integral (while the cursor is not shown on the display), press  AC/ON.

 


Example 5

To interrupt operation while a Dynamic Graph draw is being performed, press  AC/ON. The speed control screen will then be shown.

Press  F5  to save the data in Dynamic Graph memory. In response to the confimation dialog that appears, press  F1  to save the data.

 


Auto power off

Calculator power automatically turns off if you do not perform any operation for about six minutes. When this happens, press  AC/ON to turn power back on.
